Scott & Kevin Youkilis
Scott and Kevin Youkilis are not only the proud owners of Loma Brewing Company, but brothers as well. Growing up in Cincinnati, they never imagined their professional careers would align later in life by owning a restaurant together.
Scott graduated from Indiana University with a BS in Public management and then went on to receive his Culinary Arts degree from Johnson & Wales university. His career as a chef brought him to the Bay Area where he has become a successful restaurateur who also owns Hog & Rocks in San Francisco's Mission district.
Kevin took a much different path, attending the University of Cincinnati where he played baseball for the Bearcats before being drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 2001. He was fortunate to be part of two World Series Championship teams and was selected three times as an MLB All-Star.
After his retirement Kevin and his family relocated to Monte Sereno, CA. With his brother now a mere 50 miles away they began plotting a joint venture. With Scott's restaurant experience and Kevin's love of craft beer, a brewpub made complete sense. After 18 months of searching the South Bay for the perfect space, a popular location in downtown Los Gatos became available and they jumped at the opportunity.
They are thrilled to see their combined vision come to life and become active in the local community. When they're not at Loma Brewing Company you can usually find the two spending time with their families, trying craft beers from across the country, rooting for the Bengals, or listening to Phish and Pearl Jam respectively.
Aubree Arndt’s love of the kitchen began as she worked in the back of the house to support herself through college where she studied art in the more traditional sense. After studying arts and graphic design, Aubree moved to Scottsdale, AZ to continue her education, this time with a focus on culinary arts at Le Cordon Bleu. Since graduation she has worked her way up in kitchens from Arizona to Colorado and finally in San Francisco. In July of 2013 Aubree landed a job at Scott Youkilis’ popular Mission restaurant, Maverick. Unfortunately, their professional relationship ended abruptly when the restaurant suffered a devastating fire that October.
Fortunately, Aubree’s talent, hard work and dedication left a lasting impression and when Youkilis began building the team at Loma Brewing Company, it was a natural fit.
She is excited to join the team at Loma and create delicious food to pair with great house-brewed beers.
Warren Billups began brewing in his garage in 2009 when his wife told him to get a hobby. By the time he finished his second batch at home, he knew that he would do whatever it took to get a job in the brewing industry. Warren began entering homebrew competitions and winning medals for both beer and cider shortly thereafter. He quickly became involved in the homebrewing community and helped his home brew club, The Brewing Network, win Club of the Year in 2011 and 2012 at the National Homebrew Competition.
In 2011, Warren joined the brewing team at Heretic Brewing Company where he helped them grow over the next four years. His contributions included assisting in the design and buildout of a new production facility in Fairfield, CA, in addition to becoming the Lead Brewer.
After four years at Heretic, Warren wanted to move back to the Santa Cruz area, where he grew up. He was hired at Loma Brewing Company in 2015 and began designing and supervising the installation of the new brewery. Though his professional experience leans more toward making ales, his favorite styles of beer to drink and brew are German lagers and Kölsch. Warren is excited to share his takes on these classic styles with the South Bay.
Dan Reineke’s passion for hospitality began over 20 years ago when he first gained employment at a local restaurant in Chicago. After college, Dan embarked down a long, successful path in the restaurant industry beginning with the management of several Houston’s restaurants in Southern California.
In the decade that followed, Dan went on to work through ten restaurant openings in New York, Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles in renowned establishments such as The Standard Hotel, Buddakan in Chelsea, and the award-winning RM Champagne Salon in Chicago, to name a few. Throughout his career, Reineke has hired and trained over 350 front-of-house staff to create environments that exude guest comfort.
Dan is thrilled to be a part of Loma Brewing Company as the General Manager where he’ll work alongside his college roommate and former University of Cincinnati baseball teammate, Kevin Youkilis. Reineke’s drive, versatility and natural sense of hospitality are the perfect addition to lead the front of the house.
